Edmonton, Alberta August 16, 2002 Patter to keep every gunman covered
DICK & TRACY: Espionage à Trois features a smart cast of four improvisers (including a backstage musician/director). They ask for a word to start things off. The word in this case was "onomatopoeia'' and away they go. The plot is your usual bizarre neo-noir setting ending up in a, wait for it, ominous tractor factory. The locale is San Francisco and the characters run to private eye Dick and his faithful female sidekick. There is also another shamus named Spade Archer, a bad girl with the moniker of Veronica and a politically incorrect bad guy, Swanstuker, who speaks with a broad German accent. The cast is bright and inventive and have been studying up on their Raymond Chandler because they come up with enough hard-nosed detective-speak and improvised sharp patter to keep a gunman covered.
