JOB II: The Demon of the Eternal Recurrence
(written and directed by Eli Batalion and Jerome Saibil)

This sequel to the 2002 hit features the same phenomenal two-man cast that mixes hilarious character acting and addictive rhymes with an existential plot à la Jacob's Ladder.

The brilliant lyrics, inventive beats and impeccable direction of JOB II, the sequel to last year's Fringe hit, all originate with its two performers, Eli Batalion and Jerome Saibil. The fusion of pseudo-biblical story -- MC Abel's (Batalion) existential quest for fulfillment in a godless world and MC Cain's (Saibil) attempt to destroy him-- with music and choreography resembles an exquisite ballet, every gesture and word in harmony with the soundtrack. With the exception of a spotlight that always seems behind the action, the production quality is extraordinary. The actors shift effortlessly among multiple characters, each with his (or her) own distinct beats.

Lyrics are flawlessly delivered with sarcasm and wit. A provocative ending à la Jacob's Ladder leaves you wondering why your first-year philosophy professor didn't use hip-hop to teach Nietzsche.
