This is a rollicking presentation of the life and theories of Sigmund Freud, told through fast-paced skits and songs. Highlights include a number in which a Freudian dream analyst twists a man's simple dream about climbing trees as a boy into a symbolism-heavy sexual nightmare - done as a '50s doo-wop tune. The five-member cast of Montrealers is uniformly energetic and funny, and good singers too! The Freudian psychology, though necessarily simplified for such a play, is actually very accurate; psych students will get an extra kick out of seeing the subject matter presented like this. No knowledge of psychology is required, however - you'll learn a little and laugh a lot. |
